Inspired Business Inner Circle’s Shelby B Ketchen

Meet IBIC Member Shelby B. Ketchen

Inspired Business Inner Circle member Shelby B Ketchen

Shelby is a graduate of the Inspired Business Academy and current member of the Inspired Business Inner Circle since September 2021. She’s a legally blind, lupus and RA warrior who — once she was coaxed out of the corner — doesn’t say quit. She owns Shelby B. Ketchen, a project consulting services, that has grown from a general VA (virtual assistant) service that was birthed in January 2021.

In Her Own Words:

I’m the mom of amazing adults and a remarried widow. Mostly, I’m kind of a weird and a geeky nerd who loves Jesus and her family and work. I’ve owned 3 businesses over the years and I was the executive assistant to the corporate officers of a multinational company. I’m a triple-certified coach and my calling is to help the helpers which is why I work primarily with counselors and coaches.

I followed Diane around the internet for about six years or so, doing small programs and free things, until she finally coaxed me out of my corner. She saw something in me that I didn’t know that I had. God gave me my business. Diane has helped facilitate the who/how/why of it through Inspired Business Academy and now Inspired Business Inner Circle.

3 Fun Facts:

  • I’m a classically trained pianist.
  • My husband and I don’t have pets, but we have very active imaginations and our stuffed manatee, elephant, St. Bernard and platypus are our “children,” and have names and voices of their own.
  • As a little kid, I spent rainy afternoons reading my older sister’s set of Funk & Wagnall encyclopedias.

Favorite Scripture Verse:

John 16:33  “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Inspired Business Inner Circle

What made you want to join Inspired Business Inner Circle and what is the best part for you?

Inspired Business Academy helped me really give my business a boost when it was new and I loved the community of that. IBIC seemed the next logical step as my “baby” learned to walk and then run. IBIC has helped with the loneliness that can happen as an entrepreneur. I’m not alone. I’m part of a group of like-minded women. I can get (and give) honest feedback about relevant issues whether that includes pricing, mindset, content review, etc.

What 3 words would you use to describe IBIC?

  • Community.
  • Generosity.
  • Implementation.
  • Can I cheat and add a 4th? Growth.
