Hard is Relative (75 Hard)

Hard is Relative

I am on Day #8 of a new adventure.  And I wanted to start blogging about it so I can keep you posted and also record my own process and journey.

I am doing 75 Hard, a program created by Andy Frisella.  I saw a FB friend post about it 2 weeks ago and I started to research.  She had just completed it!! Bravo to you Stephanie.

After a bit of prayer, a dive into blogs, Pinterest and all sorts of places… I decided GAME ON!

What is it?

Diane Cunningham Ellis out walking while wearing a red hat!

A 75 day challenge. Free. That includes 5 main tasks daily.

#1:  Choose a diet and commit to it

#2: Drink a gallon of water a day

#3: Workout twice a day for 45 minutes in each session (one of these has to be outside)

#4:  Each day, read 10 pages of a nonfiction/entrepreneurship/personal development book

#5:  Take a daily progress picture

Why am I doing this?

I am just that nuts.  And I love a challenge.  I haven’t been able to do half marathons since my herniated disc.  I love a goal, a community. An experience to get me outside of myself.   When COVID hit, I got a Gazelle and used that almost every single day. So it’s not like I have been a slacker or not been exercising.

But it has been over a year and I need something new, a fresh challenge. A new vision. A deep dive.

HARD is Relative.

Yes, this is hard.  I walked this morning in the pouring rain for 45 minutes. But hard is relative.

Hard is cancer and chemo.

Hard is divorce and death.

Hard is hitting bottom with addiction.

I have done lots of HARD

  • Divorce in 2011
  • Lawsuit filed against me in 2000
  • Loss of my counseling career and license in 2003
  • Infertility for 10 years
  • Rock bottom with alcohol in 2013
  • Selling my association in 2017
Two water jugs and a commuter mug on counter

Hard is relative…

I thought drinking black coffee was hard and now it is easy.

I thought living without booze was hard and now it’s normal.

I thought getting off cigarettes was hard but now that is decades ago.

I am what learn, then I can teach it.

I am immersed in this.  I am learning so much about my mindset. Cause that is what it all comes down to…

Time, mind, commitments.

Water. Walking. Reading.  Daily stuff… some of which feels EASY.

So there you have it.

I want to grow…. so I can share with my clients, my tribe.  My people.  I want to expand what I believe I am capable of.

I will keep you posted as I go~~

What are you doing to learn? Challenge? Expand?
